His collaborative and student-centered leadership style positions the department for continued success.

Josh Neumiller (’05) will begin his three-year appointment as interim chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy on September 1. Neumiller has served the college for nearly 20 years, holding roles as faculty member, vice chair, director of experiential services, and clinical pharmacist. This broad background gives him a deep understanding of the department’s teaching, service, and research missions. As interim chair, he will oversee curriculum planning, student success initiatives, and faculty development, while ensuring the department’s goals align with the college’s broader vision.

Together, Clarke and Neumiller embody the strength of homegrown leadership. Both bring stability, vision, and a passion for student achievement that will guide their departments through a time of transition and opportunity.

Completing this leadership team, Julie Akers (’00) assumed the role of interim dean on July 1. With Clarke, Neumiller, and Akers at the helm, the college is poised to face challenges with resilience and move boldly toward a future defined by innovation, collaboration, and Coug pride.
