The Office of Research

We maintain a thriving research program with emphasis in novel drug targets, pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics, pharmacology, and drug discovery.

Meet the Associate Dean for Research

Assistant Vice President for Research Clinical Health Sciences Andrea Lazarus is responsible for helping WSU Health Sciences develop a competitive environment for pursuing health-related research, including clinical studies. Her work supports WSU Health Sciences Spokane to translate basic science discoveries into new treatment approaches.

See Dr. Lazarus’s faculty bio page for more details.

Clinical research support

Clinical research studies involve human participants and follow specific guidelines. Participants in clinical research studies benefit from playing a more active role in their own health care, gaining access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and helping others by contributing to medical research.

Clinical Assistant Professor Ayesha Ahmed provides support to WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) researchers on these topics:

  • IRB submissions
  • Red Cap training
  • Training

Grant Support

The WSU CPPS assists its faculty researchers with grant administration resources, ranging from finding new grant opportunities to managing budgets.

Faculty researchers with questions should contact the pharmacy grants team.
