Presentations

  • Joshua Neumiller and other speakers summarized concepts from the February 2025 publication of the Geriatric Diabetes Society’s consensus statement, “Realigning diabetes regimens in older adults: a 4S Pathway to guide simplification and deprescribing strategies,” in a session held during the Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD) 2025 in Amsterdam.

Service

  • Josh Neumiller, Mary Paine, and Danial Baker were delegates at the USP Convention Meeting 2025 in Bethesda, MD on May 6-8, 2025.

Grants

  • Jason Brouillard received a WSU Smith Teaching and Learning Grant for $5,000 last month. Jason Brouillard, Kim McKeirnan, Jennifer Robinson, and Megan Willson will be utilizing these grant funds to perform some research related to the Mental Health First Aid training.

Awards

  • Dana Bowers was notified that she is a Top 5 Peer Reviewer for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. She will receive recognition at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy annual meeting, Pharmacy Education, in July 2025 in Chicago, IL.  

Other Faculty Achievements

  • Dana Bowers received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Rhetoric and Professional Writing with a certificate in Editing and Publishing through WSU Global Campus.

Student Achievement        

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Molecular Medicine students

  • Jessie Hao (graduate student, Paine lab)was selected to give a talk at the 2025 Drug Metabolism Gordon Research Seminar in July for her research related to the botanical product kratom. The meeting will be held in Holderness, NH, and the title of her talk is “The psychotropic botanical kratom induces cytochrome P450 enzymes in human hepatocytes”.
