SPOKANE, Wash. – David Bailey spoke with student pharmacists on April 12 about his career in the prescription pharmaceuticals industry. His presentation was part of the Preparing for Your Career in Pharmacy seminar series coordinated by the Washington State University College of Pharmacy.

Bailey has over 30 years of experience in the industry and has worked for multiple pharmaceutical companies including Novartis and Teva, and he was the president of his own consulting firm. He is currently the director of trade relations at vitaMedMD, a division of TherapeuticsMD that specializes in over-the-counter nutritional products and vitamins for women. In this position Bailey helps with the strategic distribution of prescription pharmaceutical products and regulatory guidelines.

The Preparing for Your Career in Pharmacy seminar series was developed to expose student pharmacists to the opportunities in the field and connect them to key industry leaders. Presenters give a synopsis of his or her niche in pharmacy and the career path that led them there.

The seminar series started in 2012 and has brought in more than 30 speakers. Some of these speakers have included Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Washington State Pharmacy Association CEO Jeff Rochon, American Pharmacists Association CEO Thomas Menighan, and many more leaders from across the nation.
