Two pharmacy managers join faculty of College of Pharmacy

SPOKANE, Wash. – A pharmacy manager at a Yakima hospital and a manager at an Albertsons/Sav-on Pharmacy in Spokane recently joined the faculty at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy in Spokane.

Angela Stewart has been an adjunct faculty member at WSU for many years, helping to supervise the final year students on rotations at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. She recently was hired as an associate professor for WSU but will remain at the Yakima hospital assisting WSU faculty member Gregory Matsuura in coordinating the pharmacy students rotation site there. Stewart has a bachelor of pharmacy degree from the University of Washington and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas, where she also did a pharmacy practice residency in adult internal medicine. She is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist.

Kimberly McKeirnan was a practicing pharmacist for five years with Albertsons/Sav-on Pharmacy in Spokane after graduating from the WSU Doctor of Pharmacy program in 2008. She was a pharmacy manager her last year with the company before joining the WSU faculty as a clinical assistant professor where she works with the applied patient care laboratory team. She also has a bachelor’s degree in biology from WSU.
