National Pharmacy Leader Speaks at College of Pharmacy

SPOKANE, Wash –  The CEO of the American Pharmacists Association, Thomas E. Menighan, made a brief stop in Spokane to talk to students at Colege of Pharmacy about the changing role of the pharmacist in health care on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Founded in 1852, the American Pharmacists Association is the largest association of pharmacists in the United States, with more than 62,000 practicing pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians as members. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

William E. Fassett, a WSU pharmacy professor in Spokane, sits on the board of the American Pharmacists Association and also attended the speech.

Menighan’s visit is part of a new career seminar series started this year by the WSU College of Pharmacy for its students.
