Why did you choose WSU?

I chose WSU CPPS because my sister graduated in 2018 and all the faculty and professors were helpful!

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

I like the location of WSU CPPS! There are many outdoors activities and places to explore!

Something unique about you:

I moved to the U.S. when I was ten years old, and I served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic for four years!

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

I climbed up Scotchman’s Peak and learned to fly fish with my classmate through the Spokane Fly Fisher Club. I have been to the Spokane Chief’s hockey game and the Spokane Indian’s baseball game. Interstate fair and the Pig Out in the Park downtown were super fun! My cohorts made a softball team to play in the City of Spokane Sports League!

Why did you choose WSU?

I chose WSU because I felt like it brought about a family feeling that I never felt at my undergrad institution. Now, I love how close I am with my classmates and professors. Our relationships help me miss my family and friends at home less.

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

What I like most about CPPS is how small our classes are. We are a class with under 100 students which allows us to build more intimate relationships with our faculty and each other! I think we can feel more comfortable and less scared in our learning environments. I feel like I have created a new family away from home which helped with my big move.

Something unique about you:

I went to China in 2017 for free because the President Xi Jinping came to my high school and offered this opportunity to 100 students. I spent a total of 10 days on this trip. First, we went to Hong Kong where I learned how to play ping pong from an Olympian. Next, was Fuzhou, Chengdu where we saw the pandas, and the last stop was Beijing.

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

I went to many pharmacy conferences during my first year! The most fun was going to Northwest Province with my Kappa Psi brothers that was hosted by delta mu in British Colombia. The food in Canada was fantastic and it was a delight meeting new people!

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

My favorite thing about WSU CPPS is all of the amazing student organizations that allow students to learn about different aspects of pharmacy as well as gain leadership and professional skills.

Something unique about you:

I am an Eastern Washington AHEC Scholar, a program that focuses on interprofessional training, behavioral health integration, social determinants of health, cultural humility, practice transformation, and current and emerging topics.

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

While attending a pharmacy convention in Canada, I reunited with someone that I had attended language school with over 10 years ago, and neither of us knew we were both in pharmacy school and in the same organization!

Kyle Georgeson, orientation director

Hometown: Reno, Nevada
Program year: Class of 2026
Undergrad: University of Nevada, Reno, Major: Chemistry (pre-medical emphasis), Minor: Spanish

Why did you choose WSU?

I chose WSU because pharmacists that I worked with back in Reno said wonderful things about the school. When going through the application process, all the faculty and students were extremely nice and welcoming.

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

My favorite thing about WSU CPPS must be the amazing bonds I’ve created with my classmates. It is nice having a small family away from Reno to help keep me motivated and on track since we all have the same goals.

Something unique about you:

Something unique about me is that I’m a private pilot. I fly single engine Cessnas and although I do not own a plane, it is a life goal of mine to. I completed my pilot training during the summer of 2021.

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

One of the most exciting things I have done as a pharmacy student is play on a softball team that was made up of a bunch of WSU pharmacy students. The softball games allowed us to unwind and enjoy ourselves outside of school. It also helped us bond with each other since it was our first semester in pharmacy school.

Why did you choose WSU?

After attending WSU in Pullman for undergrad and having such a positive experience, I knew I had to continue with the university for pharmacy school. Being a part of a community like this one is unlike any other!

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

My favorite thing about WSU CPPS is the opportunities available for the students. There are so many clubs and organizations to be a part of! I also enjoy the lotus drinks at Fresh Plate in the library. I highly recommend getting strawberry coconut.

Something unique about you:

I have a ton of fish! One of my tanks has a betta named Franklin and his assistant Barb the snail, and my other tank houses my tetra fish (Tupac, Ted, Tina, and Tarzan) and shrimp (Larry, Fanta, and Sloppy Joe)

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

One of my favorite things to do when I have some downtime is to go skiing! There are several mountains relatively close to Spokane to choose from, and in the summer those mountains have great hiking trails.

Why did you choose WSU?

I chose WSU because of the opportunities to create relationships with professors and students due to the small class sizes. I also chose WSU because it allowed me to stay close to family here in Spokane and having a support system while in pharmacy school is very important.

What do you like best about WSU CPPS?

What I love most about the WSU pharmacy program is all the opportunities we are able to be a part of which in turn makes pharmacy school more enjoyable and allows for me to stay motivated to succeed. At WSU they have so many clubs that allow me to meet new people and create lasting friendships and professional relationships. I have learned so much from other students during my time so far at WSU that has allowed me to become a better student!

Something unique about you:

Something unique about me is that I have a serious passion for the gym and running. I love working towards my goals in the gym to continue to push to become the best version of myself. I can’t say I am the best or fastest runner, but I am always looking to improve and continue to have a passion for exercising and pushing myself to my limits! I also love to cook and would like to think I am pretty good at it!

Anything fun/interesting/exciting you have done as a pharmacy student?

So far as a pharmacy student the most exciting/fun thing that I have done has to be joining PDC fraternity. All the brothers this year planned an end of year potluck, planned several fundraisers, and had fun team bonding experiences. Outside of pharmacy school, the most fun thing that I have done would probably have to be seeing two of my favorite artists in concert, Morgan Wallen and The Lumineers!
