Pharmacy Careers: What does a geriatric pharmacist do?

March 19 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free
Women in wheelchair

Are you interested in pursuing your Doctor of Pharmacy, but not sure how that translates to a career in pharmacy? Join us for a conversation with Dr. Brian Gates, one of our faculty members who is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. He is a member of the WSU geriatrics research team, and focuses on medication management in geriatrics. As part of his faculty position, he is also a consultant pharmacist for Providence Visiting Nurses Association (PVNA) Home Health, which is a unique pharmacist practice in homecare. This is one of the rotation experiences students can complete in the final year of the WSU Doctor of Pharmacy program. Part of this service involves visiting people in their homes to help with any problems related to medications and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team at the PVNA. He will share his educational and clinical journey and answer questions about geriatric pharmacy. You won’t want to miss this!
