Career Seminar Series: How a college competition led to a thriving pharmacy career

February 20 @ 12:10 pm - 1:00 pm

In 2013, Erik Nelson graduated from the WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, embarking on an unexpected journey. During school, his team triumphed in the NCPA business plan competition, paving the way for Nelson to acquire Sixth Avenue Pharmacy in Spokane, just five months after graduation. What started as a single venture expanded into a thriving enterprise—now comprising of three pharmacies, including Koru Pharmacy and Suncrest Pharmacy. Beyond his footprint with these three pharmacies, his involvement extends to a minority interest in four other pharmacies. As part of the Cascadia Pharmacy group, he owns the largest independent pharmacy chain in the Pacific Northwest with 30 locations across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Proudly serving on the Dean’s Advisory Council, he has also delved into functional medicine through a fellowship with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). His journey, fueled by passion and dedication, continues to script a story of success and community impact in the world of pharmacy.
