Geriatrics Pharmacy Team

The goals of this team are to improve the care of geriatric patients in the Inland Northwest, to perform meaningful research and quality improvement in the field of geriatrics, and to train and educate pharmacy students and other health care professionals on the special pharmaceutical needs of the older patient.

History

The Geriatrics Team was started in 1999 by former faculty member Stephen M. Setter and has trained and mentored a consistent stream of pharmacy residents and research fellows. The college has previously worked with community partners such as, Elder Services, Family Home Care, and Providence VNA Home Health to provide advanced pharmacy practice experiences for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates and training for post-doctoral residents and fellows. The post-doctoral training has provided an opportunity to gain specialized ambulatory care knowledge in home-based geriatrics, consulting, and teaching. Below is a historical listing of residents and fellows.
