About Spokane

The WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is situated on the WSU Health Sciences campus in the heart of downtown Spokane. Located next to the college of medicine and nursing, faculty and students enjoy panoramic views of Spokane year round.

Spokane is also a great getaway for the summer. Surrounded by lakes and national parks, Spokane is home to some of the most beautiful natural scenery that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Kayaking, hiking, and biking are just some of the activities you can do with fellow colleagues or family. If going outdoors is not your thing, Spokane is also brimming with arts and culture. Visit any one of the many art galleries, bars, restaurants, wineries and breweries in or around the city.

Things to do in Spokane:

Centennial Trail: Walk, jog, or bike while sightseeing along the Centennial Trail. The trail passes through the WSU Health Sciences campus and Gonzaga University and ends at the Idaho border in Coeur d’Alene offering beautiful views along the Spokane River the whole way through.

Manito Park: Stroll through the magnificent gardens at Manito Park. One of the gems of Spokane, the park features a Japanese garden, French-renaissance style Duncan gardens and a formal rose garden. It’s the perfect place for a picnic, an evening stroll or a day at the park with the kids.

Riverfront Park: With views of Spokane’s iconic Spokane Falls, and the historic Northern Clocktower, Riverfront Park is a must-see in the heart of downtown Spokane and only minutes away from the WSU Health Sciences campus.

Rafting: Spokane’s waterways offer unlimited adventure. Go whitewater rafting in the Spokane River. You can also opt for more serene waters where you will find many kayaking along the river.

Green Bluff: Enjoy local produce at the many orchards, farms, wineries and breweries on Green Bluff just 30 minutes away from Spokane!
