I grew up in rural Eastern Washington and dreamed of travel. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and was interested in journalism mainly due to an interest in politics. I gravitated to higher education after teaching communications during and after my master’s program.
As the Experiential Education Coordinator and Advisor, I work as an advisor for students in their fourth year as they transition to their all-experiential final year in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. I connect them to resources and act as a resource myself for their Advance Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) year for things relating to sites, preceptors and the students themselves.
I also coordinate with sites and students for the Residency Prep Block programs and work with faculty to assist in the applications and outreach for international or specialty programs.
In my spare time I like to…
I cook A LOT. I love travel, movies, books, news, growing things, hiking and snowshoeing. I also recently took up crochet.
My mother always wanted me to go to WSU but it was not in the cards. When I first got the job, I was overjoyed to join this great institution and have been really amazed at how wonderful the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has been. I love the camaraderie and the feeling that even if you didn’t go to WSU, you will still be a ‘Coug!’
