Education and Certifications
- Bachelor of Arts in English, Saint Mary’s College of California
- MFA in Creative Writing, Nonfiction, Eastern Washington University
I moved to the Spokane area from Northern California in Fall 2019 to pursue my MFA degree at Eastern Washington University. After graduating in 2021, I discovered that I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to work with people and help them along in their educational or professional journeys—specifically by cultivating positive, transparent environments for work and for learning —which caused me to flip a true 180 from my path as a writer to one in human resources!
My professional interests lie in talent acquisition/recruiting, optimizing the onboarding experience for new employees, and maintaining personnel functions for current employees, all of which I’m able to explore further in my role as personnel specialist for the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
In my spare time I like to…
When I’m not working, I enjoy hanging out with my cat, reading and writing, shopping at Target, baking new dessert recipes, or exploring parts of Spokane I haven’t seen yet!
I have always felt at home in the world of higher education and wanted to work alongside people with a passion for learning and creating sustainable change in the world, which is a passion I hold as well. WSU has a fantastic national reputation and a strong presence in Spokane, both of which were very important to me as well.
