About Me

I am an assistant professor at the college in the Department of Pharmacotherapy teaching in multiple courses across the PY2 and PY3 didactic years—specifically, in the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) series which prepares students for their different clinical rotations and the Point-of-Care and Clinical Services course which introduces students to the wide range of services pharmacists engage in within practice.

My research interests include the scholarship of teaching and learning where I look at how we teach and how to improve delivery methods. I also work to improve patient care and advance pharmacy practice through researching innovative clinical services. A new interest of mine is student and faculty wellness in the era of COVID.

I am originally from the Bay Area of California, having transplanted by way of the Seattle into Spokane. I received my biochemistry degree in 2010 from Western Washington University and my time in Bellingham is what led me to pharmacy. I started my clinical practice as a technician with Target and then after graduation started working for Safeway. When I started pharmacy school at WSU in Pullman, I continued as an intern with Safeway. It was in Pullman that I met my husband through a classmate.

After graduation, I went on to pursue a PGY1 residency at the WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences working on a grant-funded project which aimed to increase patient access to care by expanding pharmacists-provided patient care services across Washington state. After completion of the PGY1 residency, I was hired to continue working on the project as part of a two-year faculty development research fellowship. I have been with the college as faculty since 2018 and have been enjoying the ride ever since.

In my spare time I like to…

I am a proud cat mom who enjoys baking tasty treats and playing video games with my husband. The gym is my best friend and worst enemy, but I find happiness through the struggle. In my free time, I also enjoy reading and lazy days at the lake.

Why WSU?

I wanted to work at WSU because I respect the Cougar pride that runs deep through everything within the university.
