SUMMARY:Pharmacy Homecoming Social Hour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Zoom social hour and live auction to celebrate Homecoming Weekend. As the Crimson Gala and annual tailgate have been postponed to 2022\, we will instead celebrate homecoming virtually! \nProceeds from the event will benefit immunization training and supplies for our second year pharmacy students – the importance of which has been demonstrated time and time again over the past year as student pharmacists have gone into their communities to help administer tens of thousands of COVID-19 vaccinations. \nParticipants will also have a chance to win some Cougar Crest wine\, and other fun games to catch up with the CougaRx Nation. We hope to see you there! \nRSVP \nAuction Item Preview\nJoin us for your chance to bid on these auction items and more! \nBottle of Cougar II Wine\nNo Cougar wine collection is complete without a bottle of Cougar II\, a 2013 Red Blend by Columbia Crest. This wine opens with a brightness of blackberry and blueberry aromas layered in with dark chocolate\, caramel\, and graham cracker. It has a savory palate that is chock-full of dark fruit and lush\, velvety tannins that lead to a long elegant finish. Donated by: Julie and Matt Akers. \nDinner with the Dean\nAn exclusive dinner with College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Dean Mark Leid for six guests featuring a selection of handcrafted wines from his own label. Created with a selection of grapes from Yakima Valley\, aged in French oak barrels\, and crafted with precision by Mark and fellow engineering friends to ensure optimal flavor. Donated by: Dean Mark Leid. \nGet Lucky at Northern Quest!\nIt doesn’t get any better than Masselow’s Steakhouse\, one of the most widely acclaimed restaurants in the Spokane region. This package includes dinner for two at Masselow’s\, located in Northern Quest and a complimentary stay in a classic room at Northern Quest Resort Hotel and Casino. Hotel stay subject to availability. Donated by: Northern Quest Resort & Casino and Masselow’s Steakhouse. \nZoom Details\nJoin Zoom Meeting from PC\, Mac\, Linux\, iOS\, or Android\nhttps://wsu.zoom.us/j/93335356243?pwd=WFNkempRUWJubFRWbnUyOU0xZU5NQT09&from=addon \nMeeting ID: 933 3535 6243\nPasscode: 420643 \nJoin by Telephone (long distance)\nFor higher quality\, dial a number based on your current location. \nDial: US: +1 253 215 8782 or +1 669 900 9128 or +1 646 558 8656\nMeeting ID: 943 7141 9875\nPhone one-tap: US: +12532158782\,\,93335356243# or tel:+16699009128\,\,93335356243# \nImportant Note: Both internal and external WSU meeting attendees must be signed into Zoom to join the meeting. \nPlease refer to this guide on Joining WSU Zoom Meetings before trying to join: Joining Meetings and Best Practices

SUMMARY:Pharmacy Homecoming Weekend – CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:After careful consideration\, and due to the surge in new COVID-19 cases\, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Crimson Gala that was scheduled for Friday\, October 8\, 2021\, at the Spokane Convention Center. The CPPS mission and vision is “to be a leader in advancing\, promoting and protecting human health.”  Therefore\, we simply could not proceed with an in-person gathering that could potentially be a conduit for more cases of the delta variant of COVID-19. \nWe discussed this decision with John Oftebro\, who was slated to receive the R. Keith Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award. Rather than proceed with a virtual gala we’ve decided to postpone the Crimson Gala until sometime in 2022.  Both John and the CougaRx Nation alumni board concur with this decision. We are tentatively planning to host a virtual Pharmacy Homecoming event on Friday\, October 8 and we welcome your input on this matter. We held a similar virtual event last year and it was a well-attended success. \nAfter careful consideration we have also decided not to host a Tailgate during Homecoming Weekend this year. \nHowever\, we do hope that any College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences alumni who are going to the game enjoy themselves and have the chance to catch up with fellow CougaRx alumni and friends. To that end we have set up a block of seats to help you all find one another. If you purchase your Homecoming Football tickets through this link\, you will be seated alongside fellow CPPS alumni\, faculty\, staff\, students\, and friends who are also attending the game. \nA reminder: Masks are currently required at all times during football games unless actively eating or drinking and beginning in October WSU Athletics will require proof of vaccination for COVID-19 for fans 12 years of age and older. Those who are not vaccinated will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event. See full details \nFor those that have purchased tickets and/or sponsorships\, there are a couple of options: 1) we can hold your contribution and use it for the 2022 Crimson Gala\, 2) we can issue a refund\, or 3) we would be honored to consider your gift as a charitable donation that will benefit pharmacy student scholarships. If you would be so kind as to reach out to Kelly Sylvester\, Director of Development at kelly.sylvester@wsu.edu or call 509-368-6675\, we can provide more details. \nOn behalf of everyone at the college\, we appreciate your support and understanding\, and we share your frustration. We will provide details for the college’s virtual homecoming event as the dates approach.
