SUMMARY:Career Seminar Series - Career Lessons Learned with Colleen Terriff
DESCRIPTION:Career Lessons Learned:  from McDonalds to Merck\nColleen Terriff\, BPharm\, PharmD\, MPH\, currently works for Merck Research Labs in U.S. Medical Affairs as a Regional (Northwest) Medical Scientific Director in Viral Vaccines\, working with clinicians and researchers with expertise in immunology\, vaccinology and viral infections. She has expertise in infectious diseases\, pandemics\, emergency outbreaks and bioterrorism\, and vaccines. In addition\, she has developed a pediatric vaccination training program for pharmacists and pharmacy students and is an active Medical Reserve Corp volunteer participating in a multitude of mass vaccination clinics for over 20 years. \nColleen previously also worked at WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for nearly two decades as clinical faculty with practice sites in both acute care (critical care and internal medicine) at Deaconess Hospital and ambulatory care clinic (internal medicine and HIV). She taught in a multitude of classes in the pharmacy program and precepted pharmacy students and residents on patient care rotations. She started two residency programs (PGY1 and PGY2-infectious disease) at Deaconess and founded an academic teaching certificate program for WSU-affiliated residents. \nThe presentation will take place on the Spokane campus in Walgreens auditorium (SPBS 101)\, Yakima students can watch the presentation from CSC101.
