DESCRIPTION:Metabolic Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD)– Search for a Treatment\nPresented by Robert G. Gish\, MD \nDr. Gish is currently an adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas and in Reno. He serves as an adjunct professor of pharmacy at Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UCSD and a clinical professor of medicine at Loma Linda University. In addition\, he is also medical director of the Asia Pacific Health Foundation in San Diego\, California and of the Hepatitis B Foundation in Doylestown\, Pennsylvania. Dr. Gish is currently seeing patients\, both in-person and via telemedicine\, at various clinics in San Diego\, Folsom\, Fresno\, San Jose\, Santa Rosa\, Las Vegas\, and Reno. He is a staff physician at a federal clinic in San Diego\, La Maestra. Dr. Gish also serves as a Board Member of the Vietnam Viral Hepatitis Alliance (VVHA). \nThe Allen I. White lectureship started when an endowed fund was established in 1979 by family\, friends and colleagues in memory of Dr. Allen I. White\, professor at the college from 1940 to 1979\, and dean from 1960 to 1979. Dr. White was also active in national pharmacy associations. These endowed funds are used to bring to any WSU campus\, distinguished lecturers whose work is related to\, or has important implications for the scientific\, social or political aspects of pharmacy or related matters. \nThis lecture will be presented virtually via Zoom.
