A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhaokang Cheng at Washington State University Spokane. The major focus of our research program is on novel mechanisms of cell death (apoptosis, necrosis, and autophagy-associated cell death) in heart diseases such as myocardial infarction and anthracycline cardiomyopathy. The successful candidate will work closely with the principal investigator, as well as other fellows and students in a highly collaborative environment. Job duties include designing and carrying out experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, writing manuscripts for publication, and training graduate and undergraduate students. A laboratory that studies cancer cell biology and is developing anti-cancer therapeutics is recruiting a Research Intern to assist with identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets, with pertinent experiments including cell culture, immunoblotting and quantitative PCR analysis of gene expression, and other functional cell-based assays. The Research Intern is responsible for performing work in support of scientific research which provides practical experience for beginners in a research related field; using advanced skills and knowledge to perform the following non-inclusive list of tasks, perform complex investigative procedures; modifies procedures to accomplish research goals; collect, process and analyze data; run research protocols; assist in preparing manuscripts for journals or presentations for conferences.

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Hui Zhang at Washington State University Spokane in the College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences to study immunology and cancer-associated cachexia. The research in Zhang lab is focused on cancer immunology and immunotherapy, and the molecular mechanisms governing cancer-associated cachexia. We are seeking a self-motivated scientist with the ability to independently design and carry out experiments, interpret results and write manuscripts. A postdoctoral fellow position is available in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Washington State University Spokane with Dr. Boyang (Jason) Wu. The research will be focused on molecular/cellular and preclinical studies on 1) characterizing tumor-stromal interactions underlying tumor initiation and progression, and 2) understanding of androgen receptor signaling and antiandrogen resistance in castration-resistant and neuroendocrine prostate cancer.

WSU College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time, annual, non-tenure track, 12 month appointment Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor position. This position is based in Yakima, Washington at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. The position will involve developing and implementing a clinical rotation site for supervision of pharmacy students. Responsibilities will also include participation in team-taught practice-related courses. Appointment is a one-year renewable appointment beginning July 1, 2017 or as soon as possible. Individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career and an interest in teaching innovative practice models are encouraged to apply. The faculty candidate is expected to develop an active practice and contribute scholarly works in their area of clinical expertise.
